Early Indicators, Early Treatment and Neuroprotection in Multiple Sclerosis (Topics in Neuroscience)

This book reviews the main neurobiological, neurophysiological, MRI and clinical features of the early phases of MS. Mechanisms of irreversible axonal damage and the role played by the interaction between glial and axons are highlighted. Contrary to what was thought for a long time the sufficient availability of oligodendrocyte precursor cells to promote remyelination in acute lesions has now been demonstrated. For not understood reasons, remyelination process fails or does not start in many cas

Posted by Comments (0)

Question by Lennon: What is TYSABRI MS treatment?
How does it help with MS relapsing?

Best answer:

Answer by madi
In MS the immune cells attack the myelin sheath (a protective covering) of the nerves. there are special receptors on the immune cells which helps them to enter the central nervous system. tysabri ( natalizumab) is an antibody against these receptors on immune cells. Tysabri attack these receptors and decrease the migration of immune cell into the central nervous system and therefore decreases the lesion formation in MS. i hope it will help

Looking for a CCSVI Screening/Treatment center in the USA. ( Liberation Treatment for Multiple Sclerosis – MS)?

Question by David: Looking for a CCSVI Screening/Treatment center in the USA. ( Liberation Treatment for Multiple Sclerosis – MS)?
My Fiance has been diagnosed as having Multiple Sclerosis, she has been suffering from this for the past 4 years or so. She was diagnosed shortly after being involved in a vehicular accident in which she suffered a fractured sturnum. I believe this break in her back has caused the MS via CCSVI. Please I have looked everywhere, I want to set up screening for CCSVI and if possible the liberation treatment if the screening goes well. I am not interested in leaving the united states but I am willing to travel anywhere in the US (I am in California just south of Sacramento) – Not interested in the Hubbard Foundation, while I appreciate all things they do, they seem to charge you $ 3500 for a screening. And others charge $ 500 ( east coast )

I also completed a 5K walk and am doing another one in an hours time. I took xanax at 10am this morning and finished drinking at 11pm last night. I do understand that Xanax is not meant for this type of use, and would never ordinarily do so but i just did. Am i in danger

Does the MS treatment in bangkok actually help?

Posted by Comments (1)

Question by S H: Does the MS treatment in bangkok actually help?
Hi there, i was diagnosed with MS about 11 years ago. A friend recently told me about the bangkok MS treatment so i got into contact with them and they told me that with the treatment i will feel alot better generally and that it will ease some of the symptoms, however i don’t know how true this is and whether it is worth the expense and time for me to go and get this treatment. i have had treatments before including therapy in india and a stem cell operation in holland however none of these have worked for me in the long term and my condition is still getting worse.

If anyone with MS has had this treatment at bangkok (at any of the hospitals there) or if you know anyone who has can you please let me know your thoughts of the treatment and if it has actually helped you/them?
Thankyou.

Question by Danny: Is Hemp oil a good treatment for MS?
Will hemp oil help treat MS symptoms? I’ve been taking it and it helps with pain.

Best answer:

Answer by Memere RN/BA
You know hemp is from a poisonous plant don’t you> You should consult your Dr before taking any more of this hemp. You may slowly be poisoning yourself. That’s why it takes the pain away because you are dulling your senses in your brain with poison. Stick to the treatments your Dr gives you.
