UB 2020: Investing in Research Strengths

Posted by admin Comments (0)

UB 2020, the University at Buffalo’s strategic plan, is being implemented through investment in eight strategic strengths that place it at an advantage over competing institutions when it comes to research funding. Research at UB has helped advance understanding and treatment of multiple sclerosis. In the latest effort, UB researchers have launched a national study to test the possibility that the symptoms of MS result from narrowing of the primary veins outside the skull. June is APS Awareness Month PSA #2 (2009)

Posted by admin Comments (2)

June is Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APS) Awareness month. APS is associated with recurrent clotting events (thrombosis) including premature stroke, repeated miscarriages, phlebitis, venous thrombosis (clot in the vein) and pulmonary thromboembolism (blockage of an artery found in the lung due to a clot that has traveled from a vein). It is also associated with low platelet or blood elements that prevent bleeding. Recently, however, even more disease states have been linked with APL including premature heart attack, migraine headaches, various cardiac valvular abnormalities, skin lesions, abnormal movement/chorea, diseases that mimic multiple sclerosis, vascular diseases of the eye that can lead to visual loss and blindness. Founded in 2005, the APS Foundation of America, Inc. is the leading United States nonprofit health agency dedicated to bringing national awareness to Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APS), the major cause of multiple miscarriages, thrombosis, young strokes and heart attacks. We are a volunteer run, community based 501(c)3 non-profit Public Charity organization and is dedicated to fostering and facilitating joint efforts in the areas of education, support, public awareness, research and patient services. Chronic Diseases: Who’s killing us, and how?

Posted by admin Comments (25)

MICROBIOLOGIST GARTH NICOLSON interview, (Sudbury, Ontario Aug. 30, 2008). Will YOUR doctor tell you about weaponized mycoplasma? About engineered mycoplasma pathogens in vaccines? Or will he or she treat your symptoms, hook you up for life (or death) on high-priced (and often dangerous) drugs? What’s the real story of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Gulf War Syndrome, AIDS and other degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Crohns, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Lupus, Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes (type one) and MANY others? If your doctor doesn’t know about (or isn’t CURIOUS about) US chemical & biological warfare, Operation Paperclip, MKNAOMI, MKDELTA, Texas prison inmates being used as guinea pigs to test genetically engineered pathogens (mycoplasma fermentans incognitus), then get another doctor. You can’t afford not to know what Dr. Nicolson is carefully, cautiously, telling us. Nicolson was a speaker at the 9th Common Cause Medical Research Foundation Conference, Sudbury Canada (Aug 29-31, 2008). GARTH NICOLSON is a whistle-blower. The kind that movies won’t be made about because the conspiracy is huge, on-going, and reaches to the top. It reveals a key element (a silent weapon) in the quiet war on the ‘lower orders.’ But SURELY parents (and grandparents) want to know – for starters – what’s going on with vaccines their children are forced to take by the Benevolent Homeland. This video is subtitled, ‘Who’s killing us, and

How does NMO Differ from MS? The Discovery of NMO IgG

Posted by admin Comments (0)

Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) is often misdiagnosed as multiple sclerosis (MS) due to the similarity of symptoms. Working to solve this puzzle, Mayo Clinic researchers examined blood samples and discovered a biological pattern known as NMO IgG antibody biomarker, for which some NMO patients test positively. The NMO IgG biomarker helps scientists separate patients who have NMO and those who have MS a critical breakthrough for finding a cure for NMO. All MS patients are encouraged to test for NMO.

What does 2711 look like? TOO MANY. On the first day of MS Awareness Week, members of the National MS Society, Hampton Roads Chapter gathered at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, VA to decorate this prominent spot with one orange flag for everyone who lives with multiple sclerosis in the Hampton Roads Chapter’s territory. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you to everyone who came out and publicly showed your support for the MS Movement.
